The Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after Professor N.E. Zhukovsky (part of the National Research Center Zhukovsky Institute NRC) and CAE (Chinese Aeronautical Establishment) signed a five-year strategic partnership agreement. The signing ceremony took place during XVI Russian-Chinese Conference on fundamental problems of aircraft aerodynamics, flight dynamics, strength and flight safety in October in Beijing.
First Deputy General Director of TsAGI Alexander Medvedsky and Executive Vice President of САЕ Sun Xiasheng participated. The spheres of possible cooperation of the organizations are aerodynamics, aeroacoustics, flight dynamics, instrumentation technology and metrology, etc.
TsAGI and CАЕ identified their main forms for interaction such as research activities in the field of using fundamental and applied aviation research in the framework of mutually coordinated contracts and agreements. Moreover, certain projects will be available where both sides can invest in technologies and material resources on a cost-sharing basis.
TsAGI and CAE plan to participate in scientific-technical seminars, symposiums, joint conferences as well as regularly exchange data on the state and development of their cooperation. They will ensure the exchange by means of consultations and annual meetings of TsAGI and CAE senior management.
“The results of the TsAGI-CAE Scientific Conference and the agreement signed will serve as a starting point in further strengthening of the scientific cooperation between two countries, both in the field of fundamental research and in the practical plane of creating new passenger carriers in the framework of the existing and prospective contracts between Russia and the People’s Republic of China,” said Alexander Medvedsky.
The conferences have been held since mid-90s, in Russia and China in turns. They took place in Novosibirsk, Moscow, Zhukovsky, Beijing, Xi’an, Shenyang, Shanghai. The meetings are organized in the framework of the joint cooperation strategy of the Russian and Chinese research and technology institutions and are aimed at exchanging research results and developing business contacts between scientists.
