TsAGI Calls for Prof. Zhukovsky Competition Entries

TsAGI (a part of NRC “Zhukovsky Institute”) announces the call for the entries within Professor Zhukovsky Competition.
The Competition implies three awards:
1) the first-degree award for best work in aviation theory (i.e. aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, combustion theory, aircraft and motor strength theory) and a gold medallion;
2) the second-degree award for best work in aviation theory (i.e. aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, combustion theory, aircraft and motor strength theory) and a silver medallion;
3) the award for outstanding textbooks on aeronautics.
Authored and co-authored scientific papers are accepted that were done in

Professor Zhukovsky Competition was established on December 3, 1920 by the Decree by the Council of People’s Commissars, On the 50th Anniversary of Professor Nikolay Zhukovsky’s Research Activity. Its first laureates were A. Nekrasov (1922) and S. Chaplygin (1925). The Competition was not held from 1925 to the 1940s. TsAGI has been responsible for holding the Competition and for awarding since 1940. A Professor Zhukovsky medal is also given to each awardee.
