TsAGI Starting Summer Recreational Campaign

3 June 2022

On May 30, TsAGI (a part of NRC “Zhukovsky Institute”) opened the first summer shift in its Salute Recreational Complex. Over 1,200 children are expected to recreate this year in Salute. The four-shift summer campaign will last until August 27.

‘Salute is welcoming the boys and girls who will definitely enjoy their summer holidays here—as they are about to meet new friends, to do outdoor activities in the nature, and to take part in interesting events. Our community of teachers, workers and cooks will do their best to make the children’s holidays comfortable and unforgettable,’ said Aleksandr Agapov, Head of the Recreational Complex.

There is a wide educational entertaining program for children. Each shift has its own topic. For example, the first summer month will include a media space organization by children who will transform the Salute into ‘Salute. HOUSE’ social net. The second shift will be devoted to a mysterious ghost town that the children will paint brightly. The third and fourth shifts, The Chronicles of Narnia and Jumanji, are expected to be no less exciting. Traditionally, each shift ends with a large-scale musical with more than 80 children involved.

Apart from that, the program will include the master classes on robot engineering, programming, DIY, singing, sports, dancing and acting. The children are taught by young skillful tutors, most of whom lead the Russian Students’ Detachment.

Salute Recreational Facility is located at Volodarsky settlement (Leninsky district, Moscow Region) at Kazansky forest park’s natural and historical reserve, near the Pakhra river. The Facility can simultaneously accommodate 320 children aged from 6 to 15. The Facility’s seven-hectare territory has separate dormitory blocks, a canteen, a conference hall for 200 people, a dancing floor, and a first-aid post. Salute provides five meals a day that includes a great variety of dishes, fresh vegetables, fruit, juices, and bakery. Due to prolonged quarantine measures, there will be no parents’ visit day in 2022.
