TsAGI working visit to Belgium: the development of international cooperation

A delegation of the Zhukovsky Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI, a member of the National Research Center “Zhukovsky Institute”) made a working visit to Brussels (Belgium). They discussed the prospects of international cooperation with European partners in the field of aeronautics.

During the visit, representatives of the Institute, headed by TsAGI Director General and Academician of the RAS Sergei Chernyshev had a meeting with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Belgium Alexander Tokovinin and Commercial officer of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Belgium Anatoly Gorshkov. They discussed the issues of cooperation between the TsAGI Contact Bureau, the Russian Embassy in Belgium and the Trade mission of the Russian Federation in Belgium within the framework of the development of cooperation with Belgian partners.

The TsAGI delegation took part in a meeting of the leadership of the Association of European Research Establishments in Aeronautics (EREA). Representatives of the European Parliament, the European Commission, heads of leading research centers — DLR, NLR, CIRA, attended the event. As Sergey Chernyshev noted; “Particular emphasis was placed on the increased financial support for basic research to create the next generation aircraft.” It was emphasized at the meeting while discussing the format of the 9^th framework program of the European Union. “No less important was the confirmation to support the exploratory research of a higher level of technological availability,” Sergey Chernyshev noted.
