Experts from TsAGI’s Certification Centre participate in the assessment of airworthiness of new passenger aircraft seats
7 December 2017
Soon, new Russian-designed passenger aircraft seats will replace their foreign counterparts. The quality of the new seats was praised at MAKS-2017 this past summer, and in November they received the certificate of component worthiness.
Experts-auditors of the Certification Centre of the Zhukovsky Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI, a member of the National Research Center “Zhukovsky Institute”) played a significant role in processing these documents. The experts were responsible for the seats meeting the static and dynamic strength criteria, as well as injury prevention. The specialists performed an expert examination of the qualification test programs, participated in the design and qualification tests, as well as compiling the evidential airworthiness documentation.
The work was carried out jointly with the employees of the company-manufacturer LLC “VEMINA-Aviaprestizh,” as well as GOSNII GA, GkNIPAS, NPP Zvezda, and KNRTU-KAI.
A Rosaviatsiya Certificate for business-class and economy class seats confirm the quality of the product and certify that the seats are suitable for installation on domestic civilian passenger aircraft.
