TsAGI takes part in the environmental campaign

September, 16 2017 The Zhukovsky Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI, a member of the National Research Center “Institute named after N.E.Zhukovsky”) headed by the Director, academician of RAS Sergey Chernyshev supported the regional environmental campaign “Our forest: Plant a tree.” The Institute together with the inhabitants of the surrounding homes planted maple, linden, barberry and cornel in the neighborhood of Levchenko street in Zhukovsky.
“TsAGI’s participation in these campaigns is a tradition,” said the director of the Institute. “This is not only a significant contribution to the ecosystem of our city, but also the formation of beneficial public activism among the young specialists of the Institute, showing their corporate spirit.”
The campaign “Our forest: Plant a tree” has been carried out in the Moscow region since 2014 and aims to attract volunteers to forest planting. About 586 thousand people have taken part in the event during these years, planting nearly 7 million trees on 1, 7 thousand hectares of forest in the Moscow region.
