TsAGI Model Airplane Engineers: New Victories

At the end of August specialists of the Zhukovsky Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI, a member of the National Research Center “Institute named after N.E.Zhukovsky”) took part in the competitions of the Russian Cup on Aeromodelling. The tournament was held in Suzdal (Vladimir region).

Following the results of the competitions, Albert Bulatov, from the staff of TsAGI Research-and-production complex won first place in rubber-motored models class at the 5-th stage of the Russian Cup (World Cup stage “2017 Astana Cup”). His colleague Yury Yevdokimov became the third in free flight glider models class stage 6 (“World Cup 2017 Free Flight of Mongolia”).

Previously, under the leadership of the Chief of the Department of aerodynamics and aircraft missiles of FSUE TsAGI, Alexander Kornushenko of the Russian junior team, of which he is the head coach, took second place in the European Championship. The competitions were held in Prilep (Macedonia).

Model airplane engineering is a profile sport for the Institute and an integral part of corporate activities of the Russian Center of aeronautical science. TsAGI’s team make up half of Team Russia of Model airplane engineering at free flight models class.
