TsAGI discussed cooperation in science and technology with European colleagues

At the end of June, the Zhukovsky Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI, a member of the National Research Center" Institute named after N.E.Zhukovsky“) took part in the regular meeting of the EU-Russia Joint Committee on scientific and technological cooperation. The event was held in Brussels (Belgium).
The delegation was headed by TsAGI Director General Sergey Chernyshev, Head of the National Contact Point (NCP) “Aeronautics,” acting on behalf of the Institute. From the Russian side, the meeting was attended by representatives of State bodies, the Russian Academy of Sciences, National research university “Higher School of Economics,” Analytical Center for international scientific and technological and educational programs, the Russian Foundation for basic research, and the National Research Centre “Kurchatov Institute.”
The implementation of the agreement on cooperation in science and technology was discussed with colleagues from the European Commission. Particular attention was paid to scientific-research cooperation in the field of Aeronautics as one of the key directions of international interaction. There was discussion about the development of cooperation between Russian and European partners within the framework of the flagship projects and joint initiatives in support of young scientists.
The Joint Committee on scientific and technological cooperation was established in accordance with the agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the European Community on cooperation in science and technology dated November 16, 2000 in order to coordinate and promote joint activities. The Committee meets once a year, the meetings are held alternately in Russia and the European Union.
