TsAGI at the opening of MAKS-2017

The Zhukovsky Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI, a member of the National Research Center “Institute named after N.E.Zhukovsky”) exhibited at the XIII International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2017.

The TsAGI exposition presented advanced developments in the field of passenger and transport aircraft. The business program included participation in conferences, negotiations and meetings with Russian and foreign partners.

The first day of the Salon for TsAGI began with the participation in the round table “Leading scientists- to aviation enterprises,” aimed to improve the dialogue between scientists and businessmen and to establish contacts for further development of scientific-technical and production cooperation. Artemy Nikitov, t he Executive Director of FSUE “TsAGI” addressed the meeting, which brought together the heads of laboratories who received mega — grants from the Government of the Russian Federation. The main theme was the presentation of the activities of the scientific laboratories (including the one created in TsAGI), achieved breakthrough results, and available capacity for research for the manufacturing sector. Also, a discussion took place regarding the contemporary problems of the aerospace industry and ways to solve them.

“The discussion was organized with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and helped to solve two tasks,” said Executive Director of FSUE “TsAGI” Artemy Nikitov. “First, the participants reviewed the results of completed projects for mega-grant tenders and presented the developments to the representatives of the aviation industry. And secondly, we discussed the ongoing projects, emerging issues, system, technical and other problems. In general, it was a task-oriented event, which gave the opportunity to exchange experiences.”

More than 200 people visited the TsAGI exposition on the first day of the Air Show. Foreign delegations, including representatives of Iran, China, Belgium, France, Germany and others.

The program to receive mega-grants, initiated by the Government of the Russian Federation, is an instrument of state support of scientific research conducted under the auspices of leading scientists in Russian institutions of higher education, scientific institutions subordinate to the Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations, and state scientific centers of the Russian Federation. Grants of the Government of the Russian Federation are allocated in an amount of up to 90 million rubles each for conducting scientific research over three years (2018 — 2020).
