In March, the expert of the Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute named after professor N. E. Zhukovsky (TsAGI, a part of the Scientific Research Center “Institute named after professor N.E.Zhukovsky”) represented the innovation cluster of aviation technologies in the city of Zhukovsky, which is part of the Moscow Region Innovation Clusters Consortium. The presentation took place in MIPT. The discussion involved representatives of the government, science, business, media and general public.

Deputy Chief of the prospective development complex of TsAGI Aleksandr Korznikov specified the main cluster objectives, its structure and priority scientific and technical areas of activities. These are technologies for the development of large aircraft, light and ultra-light aircraft, unmanned systems, aviation simulators and simulators, new materials and technologies, as well as research and equipment for space.

“The cluster is aimed at increasing the global competitiveness of the key science and technology area of the Moscow region — aircraft construction,” explained Aleksandr Korznikov. “This requires a favorable infrastructure, ecosystem and financial conditions. Whereupon, it will be possible to carry out advanced research and development, implement innovative projects, attract investment, etc.”

TsAGI acts as an anchor enterprise of the aviation technology cluster. In addition to the Institute, it will include the Institute of Aircraft Equipment (NIIAO), JSC, the Gromov Flight Research Institute, OJSC, Myasishchev EMP, OJSC, FALT of MIPT, the Strela faculty of MAI, the LINK International Management Institute, Research and Engineering Company, LLC, Giroplany RU PAT, JSC and other enterprises of the science and technology sector.
