TsAGI organizes the seminar “Practical application of mobile non-destructive testing complexes”

20 March 2017

At the beginning of March the Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute named after professor N.E. Zhukovsky (TsAGI, part of the National Research Center „Institute named after N.E. Zhukovsky”) held the scheduled scientific and technical seminar on nondestructive tests and technical diagnostics in the aviation industry — „Practical application of mobile non-destructive testing complexes”.

The purpose of this seminar is to review modern methods of nondestructive testing and technical diagnostics used in the aviation industry, and to exchange knowledge in practical and theoretical developments. The representatives of Federal State Unitary Enterprise „СIAM”, UAC PJSC, Irkut Corporation PJSC, Il OJSC, Moscow Helicopter Plant named after M.L. Mil JSC, MAI, and others took part in this event.

Zichenkov Mikhail, the Deputy General Director of TsAGI and the Head of the Aircraft Strength Complex, said: „At the early stages of aircraft design it is important to understand the criteria and mechanics of structural failure, especially when we consider composite materials. It is important to look ‚deep’ into the material, to understand how its properties change in the process of loading and operation, and how the material is effected by impact damages. In the course of studies, the role of non-destructive testing methods, both traditional ones and new methods being actively developed and used in TsAGI, is of great importance. We also closely follow the achievements of our colleagues in this field, so this seminar is extremely important when talking about the experience exchange and mutual enrichment with new achievements and developments.”
