TsAGI Develops Cooperation with Chinese Aviation Sector
10 November 2016
Representatives of the Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute named after professor N.E. Zhukovsky (TsAGI, a part of the Scientific Research Center “Institute named after N.E.Zhukovsky”) took part in Airshow China 2016, 11th International Aerospace Salon. The event took place on November
During the Aviation Salon the TsAGI delegation had a very busy schedule. In particular, Igor Kovalev, Deputy General Director of TsAGI for Complex Research for Special Purpose Projects, spoke at the forum, organized by COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China). During the plenary session of the forum he presented a report entitled “Foresight of Russian Aviation Science and Technology Development Through 2030 and Further.” Mr. Kovalev presented the view of Russian experts on the future of air transport, and shared the views of Russian scientists on new types of aircraft, propulsion units, materials, avionics, etc.
Specialists of the Institute used the opportunities at Airshow China 2016 to negotiate with their partners from AVIC Int., ASRI, HONGDU, CHRDI, BASTRI, and others. Yet another important point of the visit of the TsAGI delegation to China included consultations with CAE (Chinese Aeronautical Establishment) on joint science projects including the projects under the strategic partnership agreement between CAE and the Scientific Research Center “Institute named after N.E.Zhukovsky,” signed at the event on November 2. The delegation also held business meetings with potential new customers. For instance, at the meeting with representatives of ECRIEE (East China Research Institute of Electronic Engineering) the TsAGI delegation discussed the concept of the stratospheric dirigible, and the study of its air dynamics and controllability.
“China has a high science and technical potential these days, and is a significant participant on the aviation market,” Professor Igor Kovalev said. “The aviation salon in Zhuhai, which has become the largest exhibition in the world and one of the main business venues, is a great example of this role. For TsAGI, Airshow China 2016 is a great opportunity to visit with current customers and establish new contacts, not only with our partners from China but with organizations from other countries as well.”
