Reporting conference of the Computer-Aided Design Center named after O.M. Belotserkovsky held in TsAGI

In early November, a reporting conference of the Computer-Aided Design Center named after O. M. Belotserkovsky majoring in application tasks in the aerospace industry took place in the Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute named after professor N.E. Zhukovsky (TsAGI, part of the National Research Center “Institute named after N.E. Zhukovsky”). The Conference was attended by representatives of TsAGI, Institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
The scientists analyzed results of cooperation in projects. Among the topics discussed by specialists at the conference were the study of flame stabilization in a model combustion chamber; numerical modeling of consistent operation of a combustion chamber air intake and a nozzle; design of dynamic loads on aircraft structural elements using grid and characteristic techniques, etc.
Andrey Volkov, the Head of Airplane and Missile Aerodynamics Department of TsAGI, remarked: “The Computer-Aided Design Center has been already cooperating with the Russian Academy of Sciences for four years. During this time the scientists have managed to successfully merge their experimental and scientific developments to allow accomplishment of the most importance tasks in the aerospace industry and laying the groundwork for several years ahead.”
The Computer-Aided Design Center named after O.M. Belotserkovsky majoring in application tasks in the aerospace industry was created in 2012. It is a union of scientists under the program of joint fundamental research by TsAGI and Russian Academy of Sciences. The main goal of the Center is to develop and validate numerical techniques, and computer-aided design as applied to to the aerospace industry.
