On August 25, TsAGI (part of the National Research Center ‘Institute named after N.E.Zhukovsky‘) hosted the board meeting of the Association Technology platform “Air Mobility and Aviation Technologies.” The managers of more than 20 leading aviation and industrial enterprises, as well as research institutions of Russia took part in this event.
The future of Russian aviation science was the key conversation topic at the meeting. In 2012, the research establishments of the Russian aviation industry published a document entitled “Foresight of Aviation Science and Technologies Development until 2030 and Further.” It specifies the most advanced development areas and applications of science and technologies that will unleash the potential of our country.
The meeting participants defined the priority activities of the aviation industrial complex, specifically, the construction of supersonic civilian airliners, highly efficient regional- and long-range aircraft. Special focus was also made on flight safety. The participants expressed the idea that the issues in this area should be solved as part of international cooperation.
“I believe that the Technology platform ‘Air Mobility and Aviation Technologies’ should be appointed as a key promoter of new research and development, state-of-the-art aircraft equipment and advanced ideas,” said TsAGI’s Director General Sergey Chernyshev. “The platform is a strategic program which forms the basis for planning and financing of future innovation research in the field of aircraft equipment construction.”
The association of organizations to promote aviation development Technology platform “Air Mobility and Aviation Technologies” was established on December 1, 2015. The organization is engaged in the activities related to long-term technology development planning and participation in the preparation of the National Aircraft Industry Science and Technology Development Plan. Establishment of the platform enabled a higher-level organization and more effective and successful communication and activities of the participants.
