TsAGI at AKTO-2016
9 August 2016
The Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute named after professor N.E. Zhukovsky (part of the National Research Center ‘Institute named after N.E.Zhukovsky‘) took part in the all-Russian scientific and practical conference ‘New Technologies, Materials and Equipment of the Russian Aerospace Industry.’ The event was organized as part of the 8th international specialized exhibition ‘Aerospace Technologies, Advanced Materials and Equipment’ (AKTO-2016) held from 10 to 12 August in Kazan.
A representative from TsAGI spoke at the conference plenary session and present the report ‘TsAGI Research on Helicopter Aerodynamics’ focused on the aerodynamic configuration of the advanced rotary-winged aircraft and upgrading of the existing platforms. The expert described the activities aimed to improve helicopter aerodynamic performance and increase their speed, flying range and flight duration. The presentation also covered the creation of high-speed rotorcraft flying testbed developed by JSC ‘Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant’ that uses TsAGI’s scientific and engineering solutions. The vehicle demonstrated high performance during flight tests.
TsAGI has long-term close scientific relations with the aviation enterprises of Kazan. As an example of such cooperation, TsAGI with the assistance of the Kazan National Research Technical University named after A.N.Tupolev conducted research activities that allowed determining new aerodynamic features and effects caused by helicopter main rotor flow. Also, TsAGI continues close cooperation with the Kazan Helicopter Plant with the scientific and technical support of the Ansat helicopter activities.
