20 May 2016
On 19 May, the ceremony was held in which the scientists of the Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute named after professor N.E. Zhukovsky (TsAGI) received awards for the best R&D works carried out in 2015..
TsAGI Award traditionally cover three thematic areas: The best fundamental and exploratory theoretical and experimental research in the field of aerodynamics, dynamics and strength of aircrafts;the best R&D works on aerodynamics, dynamics, strength and prospects of aircraft; the best R&D works in the area of experimental techniques, measuring, control and computing systems and experimental procedures. In each category three research groups of scientists, whose works earned the highest assessment of the jury and received the first, second and third degree awards, were selected.
Sergey Chernyshev, the Chairman of the jury, Director General of TsAGI and the Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, said: “The works receiving these awards are distinguished by a high level of performance and multi-disciplinary nature of research and they often lie at the intersection of different scientific areas. This is a great advantage for the development of aviation science and the enrichment of its fields. Moreover, although this is a TsAGI Award, it also covers the achievements of other companies. For example, the studies carried out by our specialists in collaboration with partners from the State Scientific Research Institute of Civil Aviation and Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company were also awarded this year. The TsAGI Award is an excellent opportunity for a scientist to receive the recognition of his or her colleagues and motivation for further scientific achievements.”
