TsAGI Scientists take part in the XIV Russian-Chinese Conference

8 October 2015

In mid-September the XIV Russian-Chinese Conference “Fundamental problems of aircraft aerodynamics, flight dynamics, strength and flight safety” was held in which a TsAGI delegation took part. Specialists of the Institute presented the results of their research and discussed them with their Asian colleagues. The event was held in Shenyang (China).

The Acting First Deputy General Director of TsAGI, Valeriy Sukhanov, noted: “The Conference is a part of the general plan of cooperation between Russian and Chinese enterprises in the field of science and technology. It implies the implementation of joint advanced projects, such as the design of a wide-body passenger aircraft, as well as a heavy transport aircraft.”

The Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute named after N.E. Zhukovsky presented 11 reports in total. These reports were prepared by scientists in the field of aircraft aerodynamics, aerodynamics of power units, static and thermal strength, measuring equipment and metrology, dynamics and control systems, and structural life. Valeriy Sukhanov also emphasized: “This year our young specialists took an active part in the Conference.”

Also, during the visit to China TsAGI held negotiations with colleagues from the Shenyang Aircraft Design and Research Institute (SADRI). The implementation of the project on the study of unsteady aerodynamic characteristics of the passenger aircraft model at the experimental facilities of The Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute named after N.E. Zhukovsky was discussed during this meeting.
