Sergey Chernyshev explains the future development of the domestic aircraft industry to UAC youth
4 September 2015
On August 28, Sergey Chernyshev, General Director of TsAGI, the Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute named after N.E. Zhukovsky, spoke at the II Scientific and Technical Conference of young specialists of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC). The event, which was held within the framework of MAKS-2015 in Zhukovsky urban district, brought together about 300 people, among them: young scientists and engineers, finalists and winners of scientific competitions, heads and members of young professionals’ boards of UAC organizations, as well as the best employees of the corporation enterprises of 2014, employer-sponsored students and postgraduate students.
Dr. Chernyshev, also a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in his report spoke about “Foresight of Aviation Science and Technologies Development until 2030 and Further,” a special document developed in TsAGI for the aviation industry.
Dr. Chernyshev noted: “Today, aviation markets have become global. When developing a new aircraft, we always analyze the experience and research results of our foreign colleagues. For effective and productive scientific research it is extremely important to know the requirements of the international community. It is important that the UAC Youth Conference is being held during the International Aviation and Space Salon. Thus, young scientists and engineers not only get the chance to know each other and learn about domestic developments, but also find out what’s new in the aviation field. I am sure that in the course of international relationships and in close cooperation with the domestic research-and-development world, young aircraft specialists will soon reach new heights.”
