TsAGI took part in the final events of EREA

The annual final events organized by the Association of European Research Establishments in Aeronautics (EREA) were held in early December in Brussels.
On December 3, a traditional meeting dedicated to young professionals was held. Young scientists from several organizations — members of EREA — visited the European Parliament, took part in scientific competition, and familiarized themselves with opportunities for mobility of scientists in Europe. TsAGI was represented at the event by young professionals from the flight aerodynamics department, Vitaly Gubskiy and Viktor Lunin.
On December 4, the Executive Director of FSUE TsAGI Sergey Chernyshev took part in a meeting of the Board of Directors and the General Assembly of EREA. The meeting discussed a number of issues following the results of participation in EREA in the 7th European Framework Programme of the EU and prospects of implementation of joint research projects within the framework of the Horizon 2020 programme, included the Clean Sky 2 programme. Association members elected the CEO of the Aerospace Research and Testing Center of the Czech Republic (VZLU) Joseph Kaspar as the new head of EREA for
“EREA plays a very important role in determining the research strategy in the united Europe, and specifically in the development of European Research Framework Programmes,” said S.L. Chernyshev. “I hope that our partnership with EREA will lead to increased cooperation between TsAGI and European organizations under the 8th Framework Programme.”
The Association of European Research Establishments in Aeronautics (EREA) is a non-profit organization created in 1999, bringing together the leading European aeronautics and air transport research centers, including DLR (Germany), ONERA (France), NLR (Netherlands), CIRA (Italy), etc. The goal of the organization is lobbying for the interests of its members, deepening cooperation in the field of aeronautical research, management of joint initiatives. TsAGI joined EREA in 2012 and has the status of a strategic partner.
