Tests of composite wing prototype assemblies completed

Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI) experts completed static tests of engine hinge fittings on a composite wing cell prototype of the MS-21 project.
The works were aimed at confirming characteristics of assembly strength specified in the design documents, and proving methods of engineering in the design of metal composite compounds.
Results produced in TsAGI demonstrated that structural solutions applied on the composite wing cell prototype could be applied on an actual cell of a wing of the short-, medium-haul aircraft MS-21. In addition, Institute experts are planning to test chassis assemblies on the cell prototype.
